Charred Chopsticks Bronze Bamboo Rest

The Japanese-inspired designs, with their Southern roots, handcrafted in Georgia by Eric & Lori Wright of ME Speak Design, have graced our collection for manyyears, and this new offering is as beautiful as any, created exclusively for us: fire-charred Japanese chestnut wood chopsticks, inlaid with brass, complemented by exquisitely detailed cast bronze rests. The casting molds are made using a piece of Georgia Black Bamboo harvested not far from the ME Speak workshop in the North High Shoals. The results are as unique, handsome, and functional as we expect from this team of talented craftspeople, influenced deeply by Lori’s Japanese heritage, and the family’s home in the US South. The chopsticks, balanced and comfortable, are hand-carved into a traditional, tapering octagonal form, and inlaid at the top with polished brass. A wonderful addition to any tabletop and every dining experience.
