Narra Wootz Santoku 190mm

A beautifully designed kitchen workhorse from Hawaii’s Peter Swarz-Burt, this versatile santoku features a 190mm / 7.5″ blade forged by hand from Peter’s own house-madewootz carbon steel. The convex bevels of the 59mm tall profile show the beautiful patterns associated with traditionally crafted wootz, an almost damascus-like banded carbide effect that is the result of alloying and thermal cycling of the material. Hard, slim, and razor-sharp at the edge, this knife is tough and balanced, positioned perfectly to become the go-to cutting tool in any chef’s kitchen. A distal taper along the rounded blade spine culminates at a pointed tip for slicing work while maintaining strength enough for demanding work throughout the blade’s length. Comfort and control are provided by an ergonomic, sculpted Western-style handle made from narra wood and black micarta.
