With 275mm, or nearly 11″ of hand forged, house-made ladder pattern carbon damascus steel, inlaid at the bolster with fine silver and 24k gold, comesthe latest one-of-a-kind chef knife handmade in Brazil by artist and bladesmith William Porto. Thin, precise, and refined from tip to heel, the 58mm tall blade offers lateral flexibility throughout its length, supported by a slim, tapering spine which culminates at a fine, needle-like tip ideal for detail and slicing work. The beautiful, handmade damascus displays a classic ladder pattern, etched, and superbly finished with convex bevel geometry that balances strength and finesse for all manner of daily kitchen work, especially those tasks requiring a hard, razor-sharp, laser-like edge. Above a rounded, curved, and comfortable blade heel, William has inlaid the sculpted bolster with a stunning combination of 1000 pure silver and gold, marrying elegantly with the Arizona Desert Ironwood’s classic look and museum fit where wood meets steel. For transport and protection, a custom leather saya with turned and detailed ironwood pin is included.
