A small, one-of-a-kind santoku chef knife with big attitude, crafted by the hands of Joshua White. This talented New Jersey bladesmith has forged a 133mm/ 5.2″ blade from a homemade san mai formula of low-layer damascus cladding with a core of 1085 carbon steel. Josh has sculpted the blade with compound ‘S-grind’ geometry for cutting performance and finished it with a solid, weighted feel in the hand, wide at the spine, thin and razor sharp at the edge, with a silky, rounded, and polished spine and choil. For demanding cuts, efficient slices, and even light butchery work, a versatile and well-rounded knife is at hand. And for the hands, a symmetrical handle is shaped from maple burl, faceted in a tapered, octagonal form, rounded at the bank, and fitted with a carved black ferrule at the front.
